The AMP Foundation is offering $2 million in grants to help Australian non-profit organisations build their capacity to support and strengthen communities.
Our COVID-19 Community Boost grants of up to $200,000 are designed to support Australian non-profit organisations impacted by the pandemic – either through increased demand for their services or by having to adapt to delivering community support in the new operating environment.
Applications for COVID-19 Community Boost grants closed at 5pm (AEST) on 18 June.

When do applications close?
Applications close at 5pm (AEST) on 18 June 2020.
Who is eligible to apply?
To be eligible an organisation must:
- have deductible gift recipient (DGR) status
- have been operating for at least two years (since June 2018)
- have an annual income (based on latest audited report) of under $20 million
- derive less than 70% of its annual income from government sources (local, state and federal)
Can my organisation apply if we don't have DGR status?
No. We can only provide grants to organisations with DGR.
Can I complete the application form over several days?
No, this is a simple form that has to be completed in one session. You cannot dip in and out over several days. While not ideal, building a basic online form has enabled the AMP Foundation to be more responsive.
Are the grants aimed at a particular cohort or area?
We are open to funding initiatives that support people of all ages, backgrounds and circumstances. However, the activity must take place within Australia and be in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its associated impacts.
How much can my non-profit organisation apply for?
You can ask for a grant of up to $200,000 but must provide a budget that outlines spending. Organisations can only apply for one grant each - so no multiple submissions, please.
What can the funds be used for?
The grants can be used for a wide range of purposes, including funding salaries to backfill volunteer roles, technology to deliver services and connect people, and training to help your people meet the demands of the new operating environment. The grants will support a range of COVID-19 responses - such as meeting increased demand for food and housing security, new approaches to health and wellbeing, and alternative access to education, the arts and technology.
Grants cannot be used to meet financial solvency obligations.
I have received a grant from another source. Can I still apply?
Yes you are able to.
Why isn't there room to provide more comprehensive answers?
Our form is designed to collect sufficient detail without being too much of a burden. Feel free to respond using bullet points. The aim is to give us an understanding of your response to COVID-19 and what you need to keep supporting the community.
Can I email supporting documents for my application?
No. If we need more information, we will let you know.
When will I know if my organisation has been successful?
The AMP Foundation aims to contact everyone who has applied by the end of July 2020. However, this is dependent on the number of applications we receive.
If my organisation is successful, when will we receive funding?
We aim to make funding available from August 2020.
