New ESG-focused investment option

In 2021, we added a new ESG-focused investment option to the AMP Super Fund investment menu, called Pendal Sustainable Balanced.

Pendal Sustainable Balanced is a diversified strategy which invests across a range of asset classes, including shares, property, infrastructure, fixed interest, cash and alternatives. The option actively seeks exposure to securities and industries that demonstrate leading ESG and ethical practices and excludes companies not meeting the investable criteria.

You can find more information about our approach to ESG investing and our investment choices, including Pendal Sustainable Balanced, in the SignatureSuper Investment Guide.

Our approach to sustainability

To AMP, sustainability is our ability to meet the needs of the present without compromising future generations. As custodians of our customers’ money and future, we face complex economic, social and environmental challenges which bring both risks and opportunities to our customers, our people and our community. 2021 Corporate ESG ranking - Prime

In 2021, the Institutional Shareholder Services group of companies (ISS) ranked AMP’s ESG performance in its corporate business (not specific funds) as ‘Prime’2. This ranking is based on AMP’s management of sector specific ESG issues using up to 100 criteria.

Prime status is given to companies considered sustainability leaders in their industry and are better positioned to cope with ESG challenges and risks, as well as to seize opportunities, than their non-Prime peers. This rating places AMP in the top 10% globally of our industry.
