    01 Check the criteria
     

    Check that you meet the corporate trustee requirements. Residential investment properties only (no commercial). Also check that your borrowing purpose meets SMSF lending rules (e.g. LRBA structure, eligible trustees, investment‑only purpose).

    Your broker or specialist will enter the SMSF loan application in Loanapp, complete validations, upload documents, and submit for credit assessment. Once approved, loan documents are issued and settlement follows. It’s a simple process with a home loan specialist.

    Eligibility Criteria

    • Your maximum loan amount should be no more than 80% of the total value of the property.
    • Corporate trustee requirement (no individual trustees allowed)  ​
    • Investment purpose only – not owner occupied, no change of purpose allowed  ​
    • Eligible security types (e.g., residential only; no off the plan, no rural, no commercial building)  ​
    • Minimum fund size (e.g., $300k net assets)​
    • Minimum loan amount $300k​
    • The liquidity (deposit, bond, shares, etc.) in your SMSF must be at least 10% of your SMSF total asset after you purchase the property.
