What is changing?
We are updating the MySuper investment approach to better reflect your age and stage of life. Rather than the previous approach, which adjusted based on the decade you were born in, your investments will now gradually adjust on or around your birthday. This means your investment mix will become more personalised over time, helping to balance growth opportunities and risk as you move towards retirement.
How will this affect your super?
Investments tailored to you
As you get older your investment mix changes. When you are young your super investments can carry a higher risk and will be invested in growth assets as you have a longer time horizon to wear the ups and downs of investment market volatility. As you move closer to retirement, this mix changes to become more defensive to reduce the risk around market fluctuations.
A simpler approach to investing
With the new AMP MySuper changes your mix of investments will change every year, ensuring you benefit from growth in your younger years and more protection as you head towards retirement.
You don’t need to do anything
There is nothing you need to do but you will notice some changes to the names of your investment strategy when you review this in your statement or in your online account.
What the investment strategies mean

-

Frequently asked questions
We’re updating AMP MySuper from a decade-based structure to an age-based lifecycle approach. Your investment mix will now gradually adjust over time based on your age, with changes happening automatically.
Lifecycle investing means your investment mix adjusts automatically as you get older. Earlier in life, your super generally has a greater focus on growth. As you move closer to retirement, the mix gradually introduces more balanced and defensive investments.
We’re introducing a more gradual and consistent lifecycle approach, with an investment mix that is more tailored to your age. The updated structure is also designed to make AMP MySuper simpler and easier to understand.
If you’re invested in AMP MySuper, your account will move to the new structure automatically. Depending on your age, you may notice a new investment name, changes to your investment mix or more than one investment line shown in your account.

From 1 December 2026, the standard weekly administration fee will reduce from $1.50 to $0.99, and the standard percentage-based administration fee will reduce from 0.19% to 0.18% per year. The administration fee cap will increase for members with large account balances, and some investment fees will also change. The new AMP MySuper Cash investment fee will apply from 23 November 2026.
We regularly review our fees to make sure they remain fair, competitive and aligned with the costs of running AMP Super and managing investments on members’ behalf. The updated fee structure better reflects the services provided and how those costs apply across AMP Super.
The overall amount you pay may increase, decrease or stay about the same, depending on your account balance and the investments you hold. Standard administration fee rates are reducing, while the administration fee cap and some investment fees are changing
The fee changes may affect a range of AMP Super members. This includes members invested in AMP MySuper and Choice investment options, as well as Pension members. The overall impact will depend on your account balance and investment options held.
