General Information

    A joint Everyday Account is a transaction account that allows you to manage your money together, track spending insights, and plan where your combined funds go, doing all this with another AMP Bank GO Personal customer.

    Setup & Closure

    A joint Everyday Account is intended for individuals. Both account holders have equal rights and responsibilities in relation to the account.

     

    Please refer to Transaction Account Terms and Conditions and the Everyday Account Target Market Determination on whether the joint Everyday Account is right for you.

    You can apply for a joint Everyday Account if you are 15 years or older and have an individual Everyday Account with AMP Bank GO.

    A maximum of two AMP Bank GO customers can apply for a joint Everyday Account within minutes using AMP Bank GO, without the need for paperwork or assistance from a customer agent.

     

    Each account holder can only have 1 joint Everyday Account.

    To open a joint Everyday Account, both parties must have an individual Everyday Account with AMP Bank GO.

    Follow these steps:

     

    • Open AMP Bank GO
    • Tap your profile icon at the top right of the home screen
    • Select 'Open a New Account'
    • Choose 'Joint Everyday Account' to start the account opening process.

    Tip: Both AMP Bank GO customers should request to "Open a New Account' in AMP Bank GO to generate their own QR code.

    You can only open 1 Joint Everyday Account.  

    To open a joint Everyday Account, both customers must first have an AMP Bank GO Everyday Account.

     

    We will only require proof of identity documents when a customer first opens their individual Everyday Account. No additional proof of identity documentation is required to open a subsequent joint Everyday Account with AMP Bank GO.

    Yes, the account opening process will time out if it is not completed by both account holders within 30 minutes of the first account holder starting their application. When scanning the QR codes to join both account holders together, the QR codes refresh every 30 seconds. 

     

    The opening process is considered finished once the Terms and Conditions are accepted by both account holders. If the 30 minute time limit expires before completion, the application will reset, requiring both parties to begin the process again.

     

    Customers do not need to be in the same location to open a joint Everyday Account, as both account holders need to scan each other's QR codes to complete the process, You can take a screenshot or picture of the QR code and send it to the other party for scanning. Please ensure the QR code is scanned within 30 seconds to successfully proceed with the account opening process.

     

    Note: Setting up account can only be done by the QR codes, the first account holder will need to wait until the second account holder has successfully scanned the first account holder's QR code. Otherwise you will need to contact customer service in AMP Bank GO to fix the timeout issue.

     

    If you continue to experience issues, please contact AMP Bank GO, and a customer service agent will assist you.

    A joint Everyday Account cannot be closed using AMP Bank GO. To request closure of a joint Everyday Account, one of the account holders must contact AMP Bank GO directly.

     

    If the account is in credit, the balance may be distributed between the joint account holders equally, by payment to the Everyday Account in their name.

     

    Usually AMP Bank GO will be able to close a Joint Account once both account holders have provided consent to close.

    To initiate the closure of your joint Everyday Account, please contact us through AMP Bank GO.

    Upon receiving your request, we will reach out to the other account holder to obtain their consent. Once both parties have provided approval and any additional necessary criteria are met, we will proceed with closing the account.

     

    If the account is in credit, the balance may be distributed between the joint account holders equally, by payment to the Everyday Account in their name.

    A joint Everyday Account should have a balance of $0 before the closure process can be completed. 

     

    All transactions initiated before you close your account will be processed to your account. If there are uncleared funds or outstanding debit card authorisation holds in your account, you can’t close your account until they’re cleared. You need to make sure that you have enough funds in your account so that any uncleared funds or debit card authorisation holds can be cleared. 

     

    If the account is in credit, the balance may be distributed between the joint account holders equally, by payment to the Everyday Account in their name.

     

    To close a joint Everyday Account we may need consent from both account holders. Please reach out to the AMP Bank GO customer service team on 1800 950 105.

    A closing statement is automatically sent to each account holder immediately after a joint Everyday Account has been closed. Each account holder will receive an email with their closing statement, containing their own personal details.

    QR code functionality

    You can create a Payee using a business ABN PayID or they Organisation PayID.
     

    1. Login and navigate to the Payments tab.
    2. Select Add a Payee.
    3. Select Business (at the top).
    4. Enter Business Name and click Next.
    5. Select Payment method either:
      - ABN/ACN (PayID) or
      - Organisation (PayID)

    Tip. The business PayID you are trying to add, must be registered for PayID.

    Account Management

    Your joint Everyday Account BSB and Account Number can be located through AMP Bank GO.

    You can access these details through the AMP Bank GO. Please follow these easy steps:

     

    • Open AMP Bank GO on your device.
    • Navigate to your joint Everyday Account select the Plus icon next to your balance.
    • This will bring up the "Account Details" to view your BSB and Account Number

     

    Both account holders have equal access to the funds in the account, allowing them to make deposits and withdrawals, regardless of each person's contribution.

     

    Using AMP Bank GO, you can switch between your all your accounts.

     

    1. Go to the top left of your home screen where it has the name of your account (selector) section of your app. (You will see a list of all your accounts)
    2. Select the account you would like to switch to.

    The joint Everyday Account operates with any to sign authority, meaning you can make or cancel transactions without needing the other account holder’s consent. Both account holders have access to comprehensive account details via the AMP Bank GO app including

     

    • Transactions made by either account holder
    • Detailed information about where each transaction occurred
    • Spending insights
    • In-app communications sent or received by either account holder.

    Responsibility for the account is shared equally, and if the account becomes overdrawn, repayment may be requested from one or both account holders.

     

    Yes, each joint Everyday Account holder can link their own Qantas Frequent Flyer membership start to earn Qantas Points on the monthly average balance in the Joint Account.

     

     

    Yes, each account holder can independently link the joint Everyday Account to their respective Qantas Frequent Flyer membership.

     

    If both account holders link their joint Everyday Account to their respective Qantas Frequent Flyer membership, the points earned from the balance of the joint Everyday Account will be evenly split, with each account holder receiving 50% of the total points.

     

    However, if only one account holder links to their Qantas Frequent Flyer membership, that individual will receive all the points earned from the joint Everyday Account.

     

    You can view the balance in your joint Everyday Account on your home screen. 

     

    To change your joint Everyday Account display name, just follow the steps below:

     

    • Go to your Profile menu
    • Select the three dots next to your Joint Account
    • Select 'Edit display name'
    • Update your display name 
    • Select 'Save'

    The display name is set at the account level, so any changes made by one account holder will also be visible to the other account holder.

    To view your joint Everyday Account terms and conditions:

     

    • Go to your Account Profile 
    • Select 'Statements and Documents'
    • Select 'Legal Documents'

    Whilst you have your joint Everyday Account open you must have your Transaction Account active.

     

    If you wanted to close your Transaction Account - you must first close your Joint Account.

    If any account holder has notified us of a dispute, we will continue to allow existing direct debits to be processed unless you request otherwise. We may close the account and distribute the funds equally if your dispute cannot be resolved within 90 days from the date you notified us of the dispute.

    For joint Everyday Accounts, we may require each joint account holder to agree to close the account. If the account is in credit, the balance may be distributed between the joint account holders equally, by payment to the Transaction Account in their name.

    A Savings Account cannot be linked to a joint Everyday Account.  Within your joint Everyday Account, you can organise funds using joint Spaces. 

     

    To create a new Joint Space, go to the Spaces tab and select 'Create Space'.

     

    Yes, Joint Spaces are created and managed by both joint account holders.  Both joint account holders can also view archived Joint Spaces. 

    Yes, this can be done by

     

    1. Navigate to the Spaces tab,

    2. Select 'Archived Spaces'

    3. Select the Joint Space you wish to restore

    4. Select 'Restore Space'

    Go to the Spaces tab and select the Space you wish to add funds to. Select 'Add' and enter the amount you wish to transfer. You can also add a round up to one Joint Space and automatic transfers. 

     

    When a Space is archived, the balance is automatically transferred back to your joint Everyday Account available balance.

     

    Yes, since Spaces are created on the joint Everyday Account level, any specific savings target set by one account holder for a Space will be visible to the other account holder.

     

    To set this up, you can enter the savings amount when creating a Space or select an existing Space and configure a specific target using the "Manage Space" option.

    Yes, either account holder can enable automatic transfers for a Joint Space.

    Yes, since Spaces are created on the joint Everyday Account level, any round-ups set by one account holder for a Space will also apply to the other account holder.

     

    To set this up, you can enable the round-ups feature when creating a Space, or select an existing Space and configure round-ups using the "Manage Space" option.

    Yes, whenever funds are credited to the joint Everyday Account, both account holders will receive a notification, provided notifications are enabled. This does not include automatic transfers to Joint spaces.

    Yes, whenever an outbound payment is made from the joint Everyday Account, both account holders will receive a notification, provided notifications are enabled.

     

    Yes, spending insights are based on outbound transactions at the joint Everyday Account level, providing the same information to both account holders.

     

    Yes, our joint Everyday Account feature allows you to identify which account holder conducted a transaction by navigating into your transaction feed.

     

    All transactions made by the other account holder will display their first name beneath the transaction.

     

    Please note, additional details can be viewed by clicking on the transaction.

    The joint Everyday Account operates in much the same way as your individual Everyday Account.

     

    You will have access to the same functionalities, such as Spaces for managing and organising your funds, round-ups for saving spare change, and spending insights to help you track and analyse your financial habits.

    Cards associated with the joint Everyday Account are managed individually.

     

    Each account holder is given their own joint Everyday Account 'card' which allows them make purchases from the joint Everyday Account.

     

    Management of the card actions such as for example, adding to digital wallets, card controls in AMP Bank GO is managed individually on a per card basis.

    No, cards are managed individually, so your card will remain active.

     

    In some circumstances, if you or we are concerned about the overall security of your account, both cards may need to be blocked or cancelled.

    No, even though the joint Everyday Account operates on a one-to-sign , cards associated with a joint Everyday Account are specific to each individual and managed at an individual level. Therefore, any requests to cancel or replace a card, adjust payment limits, or manage card controls can only be authorised by the respective cardholder.

     

    Yes each account holder has their own card controls and transaction limits for their individual card. 

     

    Access your AMP Bank GO App and tap the Joint Accounts profile icon in the top right corner. Follow these steps:

     

    • Choose "Help."
    • Click on "Talk to AMP Bank."
    • Initiate a "Start a New Conversation."
    • Select "I Need to Get in Touch" to view your contact options:
      • Live Chat
      • Send a Message
      • Call Us
         
    • Pick your preferred method to reach out to AMP.

    Note: Each account holder can view the first message sent in a live chat,  the content of a completed chat;  and messages sent, in relation to the joint Everyday Account between a joint account holder and us. 

     

    Please note that all messages initiated from a joint Everyday Account are accessible to both account holders. For inquiries of a private nature, we recommend contacting us by chat when you are in individual Everyday Account.

     

    The address book for your individual Everyday Account is separate from your joint Everyday Account's address book. In the joint Everyday Account, the address book is shared between account holders, so any additions, edits, or deletions made by one person will be visible to the other.

     

    If you wish to add a payee from your individual Everyday Account to your joint Everyday Account, you will need to manually enter the details in the joint Everyday Account. 

    Yes, each account holder can add a PayID (email address or phone number) to the joint Everyday Account, provided it has not been used for another AMP Bank GO account.

    No, PayIDs associated with the joint Everyday Account are managed individually. While you can view the other account holder's PayID linked to the joint Everyday Account through  AMP Bank GO.

    Attempting to edit or delete it will result in an error message.

    Yes. each account holder can add their joint Everyday Account card to their mobile wallet.

     

    To activate your card, navigate to the 'Cards' tab in your AMP Bank GO app.

     

    Yes, PayTo agreements can be linked to a joint Everyday Account. Approval or rejection of a agreement requires consent from only one account holder.

     

     

    Yes, all PayTo agreements, whether active, paused or declined, linked to the joint Everyday Account are visible to both account holders. You can view them on the app through the Payments tab.

     

    Before you begin, make sure you have sufficient funds in the Account you are transferring funds from. 

    If you are in your joint Everyday Account, just follow the steps below: 

     

    • Select the 'Payments' tab
    • Select 'Transfer between accounts' 
    • Select your AMP Bank GO Everyday Account you would like to move money to 
    • Check the 'From' and 'To' fields correctly reflect the direction of funds 
    • Enter amount and reference
    • Select 'Review transfer' 
    • Select 'Make transfer'

    Please note, transferring funds between your joint Everyday Account and AMP Bank GO Save and Business Save Accounts is not available.

    To view your Account Statement:

     

    • Go to your Account Profile
    • Select 'Statements and Documents'
    • Select 'Account Statements'
    • Select your desired date range 
    • Select PDF or CSV

    The account statement will include only the personal information of the account holder requesting it. However, the account name will be displayed, comprising the names and surnames of both account holders.
