Anna Shelley, AMP’s Chief Investment Officer said:

“We’re delighted to continue delivering strong investment returns, making a meaningful difference to our members’ retirement outcomes.

“The returns are driven by our overweight positions in global shares, complemented by strong contributions from private debt and diversified credit. We tactically reduced risk as volatility rose and redeployed capital following the Liberation Day sell-off.

“Stock selection by our quantitative international equity managers, combined with positive contributions from our dynamic asset allocation strategies, have added further value. Our relatively low exposure to direct property also enabled us to acquire high-quality assets at attractive prices.

“Our dynamic approach has allowed us to buy on market dips and trim into rallies, enhancing returns. We’ve also benefited from exposure to companies leading in AI innovation.

“Looking ahead, we see AI – not as hype – but as a powerful productivity driver across the real economy – a durable, long-term investment theme with more listed companies expected to benefit over time.

“While geopolitical uncertainty may keep volatility elevated, we remain positive on the outlook for global equities through to 2027.

“Our role is to be calm, disciplined stewards of our members’ savings – leaning into opportunities, managing risk carefully, and always maintaining a long-term
    perspective.”

Melinda Howes, AMP’s Group Executive Super and Investments, said

“Anna and the investment team continue to do a wonderful job for our members, but we see our role as more than just delivering great investment returns.

“In the past year we’ve launched a number of new features to help our members get more from their super and take greater control of their retirement. This includes Lifetime Boost, AMP Rewards and a range of new digital financial advice journeys – all at no additional cost.”

    AMP’s MySuper Lifestages approach

One of AMP’s Lifestage MySuper offerings, the 1970s option uses a high-growth asset allocation and is the largest option by funds undermanagement.

AMP’s MySuper Lifestage options automatically adjust asset allocations based on a member’s age, gradually shifting from higher growth to more defensive investments as retirement approaches.

This approach is designed to reduce risk later in life while still capturing growth in earlier years — and has continued to support positive outcomes across all age cohorts.
