Yes, there is some good news! After interesting times in the investment markets since the start of COVID-19 - we’re pleased to see a substantial bounce back. And the retirement savings of our members are benefitting.

Investment markets are looking healthy and AMP has capitalised on this through our MySuper investments, with exposure to higher growth assets. In fact, AMP MySuper 1980s and 1990s have returned more than 23% this year!

Have a look at the table below to see how all the MySuper investments have performed over the past one, three and five years.

AMP MySuper performance as at 30 June 2021

AMP MySuper uses a lifecycle investment approach which changes over time to match your life stage, depending on your decade of birth. Younger members will be invested in more growth options because they have longer to ride out the market, whereas people nearing retirement are invested in lower risk investments, as they’re likely to have less time to ride out the market highs and lows before they retire. Remember that past performance is not always a reliable indicator of future performance, and you don't always get back what you invest.

   1 year (% pa)  3 years (% pa) 5 years (% pa)

Investment choices affect returns

Around 40% of our super members are not invested in the MySuper option (which is the default option you receive if you don’t choose your own investment mix).

So, if you’ve chosen your own investment mix from our list of over 100 options, your returns will vary depending on your mix of asset types, and their level of risk.

The best way to understand how your super investments have performed in the last 12 months is to check them in My AMP.
