Making super contributions for
your employees

Ways to pay your staff their super

If you have employees, it’s likely that you’ll need to pay superannuation contributions into their super fund. If you’re not sure, it helps to understand your obligations, so you are correctly set up to pay their super.

If you have employees with an AMP super fund, we have flexible options to help you make their super payments easily.

Before you get started, you’ll need some information

There are a few things to clarify before you start making contribution payments:

  • for a new employer or new employee—If you haven't made a contribution before or if you need to open a super account for a new employee, we can help you get started.
  • check which AMP super product your employee has—We have listed our range of super products below.
  • Under SuperStream, you need to pay super contributions using an industry approved electronic method for the payment and linked data. See below for your options.
  • identify which type of contribution you're making—Are you making an employer contribution or are you assisting an employee to make a personal or spouse contribution?

For each contribution payment, please supply all relevant information, so that we may correctly apply the contribution to your employee's account.

Important notes for members/individuals

Claiming a personal tax deduction

if you're self-employed and intend to claim a personal tax deduction on your personal member contributions made to super, you will also need to complete and submit a Notice of intent to claim a tax deduction on personal superannuation contributions form. We will send you an acknowledgment of your intention, which you will need to retain for tax purposes. For more information, refer to AMP's Guide
