Markets and super returns

How your employees can weather market ups and downs

Shane Oliver recently published an article ‘Weathering recent market ups and downs’, where he looks at what’s been happening in markets over the last few months and how it may affect super returns.

Since the beginning of 2016 share market returns have been lower than expected and this has affected the Australian share market with a -9.6% pa return on Australian shares1 for the year to 31 March 2016. What this means for your employees is that their next super statements may show a lower return on investment.

Encourage your employees to read Shane’s article, where they can learn more about the importance of long-term investing.
