About The Amplify Ignite Program

About The Amplify Ignite Program

The Amplify Ignite program is an initiative forming part of AMPs commitment to help everyday Australians achieve their goals. PhD students all across Australia have the chance to win up to $7,000 to help further their research, by assisting in the development of presentation skills required to ‘pitch’ a theory or idea which explores ‘the edge of the possible’.

Sometimes the biggest challenge faced is having the confidence and ability to translate a complex idea into everyday language, and having the skills to think outside the box and deliver an engaging pitch can often be the key to opening doors. Whether on stage or in the boardroom, delivery and timing is everything!

AMPs Amplify Ignite program helps participants explore their creative side, think differently, gain confidence, and experience the rush and spontaneity of pitching.

In the lead-up to pitch night on Tuesday 6 June 2017, 20 participating finalists will have the chance to work with a team of mentors – an eclectic bunch of professionals who will help with the transformation from students to stars.

The Amplify Ignite PhD Pitch Evening is a one night only special event that will be staged in front of a live audience at an iconic inner city venue. Our participants will get to experience the commotion of backstage and the urgency of a live pitch performance as they test their theories in front of a packed venue.

  • Each of the 20 finalists chosen to participate in the program will receive a $1000 Australian Dollars, paid upon completion of the Amplify Ignite program, courtesy of AMP’s Amplify Ignite sponsor, MinterEllison.
  • AMP and MinterEllison will award a further $5000 Grand Prize to the individual who delivers the most captivating pitch at the Amplify Ignite PhD Pitch Event on at Sydney’s the Basement on Tuesday 6 June 2017, chosen by our panel of judges.
  • A special $1000 ‘People’s Choice Prize’ will also be awarded during the event.
