The team at Providence for Wealth has been providing financial planning advice in Glen Iris, Camberwell and the general East Melbourne area for over 20 years. Providence for Wealth began in 1993 as Complete Financial Providence Group. Established by Jim Calmer, the founding qualities of integrity, quality, approach-ability and providing excellent service are still embedded in the practice today. We build our advice around your goals and place emphasis on listening to help you explore, plan and ultimately achieve your goals.

Nick started with AMP Financial Planning in 2011. In 2015 he merged his practice into Complete Financial Providence Group, now Providence for Wealth, where he is a Director.

Nick believes throughout our lives there is a gap in education when it comes to money management and wealth creation. He believes for many there is no consideration for financial planning until debt is at their door step. His motto is "It's never too late to start, but it's never too early to start either."

Nick's specialises in helping clients realise their financial goals and objectives and places great emphasis on debt management and protection of client’s biggest asset, their income.

The Providence for Wealth family is Nick's second home. His colleagues' ethics, commitment and working style mesh perfectly with his own.

During Nick's 23 years in the police force, he often overheard colleagues talking about their lives being controlled by the lack of money, because no one had a plan to relieve their financial problems or build future wealth. Financial advice for Nick is about helping people achieve financial freedom to enjoy life.

Nick aims to build strong relationships with his client because it is the relationship between the adviser and client which really adds value, not so much the product or the solution. He believes through a trusting relationship he can build something strong with his client to achieve financial freedom.

Austin Whiting

Director, Financial Adviser

Authorised Representative of AMP Financial Planning

Bachelor of Business (Accounting)
Chartered Accountant
Certified Financial Planner®
Member of Financial Planning Association
Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants
Member of Financial Ombudsman Service

Austin started with AMP Financial Planning in 2011. In 2015 he merged his practice into Complete Financial Providence Group, now Providence for Wealth, where he is a Director.

Austin began his career in finance as an accountant after completing his accounting degree. He enjoyed this and it was a period of great learning, however it was principally focused on looking at the past when it came to financial matters.

Austin turned his attention to working more closely in an interactive role with clients, focusing on planning for the future and creating wealth. Austin refined his financial planning and investment skills in roles with JB Were and RBS Morgans before joining the AMP Network.

Austin says the best advice he can give to anyone is to start planning towards your goals when you are young.

Outside of work Austin swims, plays tennis and golf and revels in family time.

For Austin, financial advice shows people options they never knew they had and how to maximise what they already had. Helping clients create financial stability where there was none or creating a brighter future is why he believes in the value of advice.

Austin works hard and in the best interest of the client, he achieves this by having strong communication and listening carefully to every client. He also believes in the importance of listening to the client so he can guide them and help educate them to better understand their own goals.

Ryan Skeen

Goals Coach & Financial Adviser

Authorised Representative of AMP Financial Planning

Bachelor of Business (Financial Risk Management)
Member of Financial Ombudsman Service

Ryan finished his university studies in July 2016, completing a Bachelor of Business (Financial Risk Management) at Victoria University.

Prior to completing his degree, Ryan has been working with Complete Financial Providence Group, now Providence for Wealth, in an administration and support role while finishing his studies. This time allowed Ryan to gain great insight and knowledge into the world of financial advice.

Outside of work, Ryan plays cricket, follows the Essendon Bombers, is passionate about the NBA and enjoys going to the gym and running.

Advice is important because of the dynamic nature of the financial markets, political environment and social landscape it exists within. The ability of an adviser to interpret, communicate and educate their clients and utilise it to their benefit is where value can be added.

Ryan wants to help more people from his own generation, Gen Y, and younger see the value of financial advice. The younger people are engaged, the greater the benefit will be for them over their lifetime.
