Meet our team

Our team is known for their commitment to our clients and willingness to go the extra mile to provide a quality and professional service. We pride ourselves on the long lasting relationships we have developed with our clients over the years and our ability to make people feel welcome at each of our two locations. By taking the time to get to know our clients over a coffee and hearing their stories, we can tailor their experience and our advice to truly suit them.

Our team consists of five experienced and qualified people in the role of Adviser & Coach, an Advice Mentor, three Client Services Officers, an Executive Assistant, Operations Manager, Senior Technical Coordinator and Marketing & Communications Coordinator.

Michelle is the Managing Director of the Mybluesky business. She has worked in various roles in the Financial Services Profession for over 25 years which has afforded her a wealth of both knowledge and experience.

Michelle has been awarded the 2012 Value of Advice Award for Charter Financial Planning in South Australia. She was the Gerald Lipmann Award Winner (AXA Australia’s National Adviser of the Year) for 2009 and was South Australia’s AXA Adviser of the Year in 2005. Michelle was a finalist in the Inaugural AFA Female Excellence in Advice Award in 2011.

Why financial advice?

Michelle’s true passion is working with people and having an opportunity to make a genuine difference in their lives. She believe that everyone has their own unique story and loves the privilege that being a Financial Adviser affords her to share a part of that story with her clients.  She also enjoys the challenge of developing strategies, solving problems and providing clients with options and choices for their future.

What’s their goal?

Michelle’s goal is to deliver quality advice to her clients and to assist them with the support and tools that they need to achieve the outcomes they are looking for in their own lives.  This means more than only excellent technical expertise, it’s about creating opportunities and options to live the best life you can – whatever that means for you.

For her personally those options and opportunities definitely include travel!!  Most importantly though, it is being able to spend time with her family and friends and giving back to our community.


Peter Knowling

Peter is our Practice Manager and has been with our Group since 2006. He has been an Adviser in our group since 2009 and directly involved in delivering financial planning services since 1992.

He brings over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry to the fore when assisting and advising clients.

Why financial advice?

Peter really enjoys assisting people to achieve what they are aiming for in their financial and personal lives. It is a privilege to meet with new clients and to build and reinforce relationships with existing clients.

What’s their goal?

Peter is looking forward to setting up his family for a comfortable and satisfying retirement.

Peter’s main goal in life is to assist others.


James Rundle

James joined our group in 2009 and has been an Adviser since 2010. James has developed extensive knowledge and his qualifications cover a wide range of insurance, savings, superannuation and retirement income matters.

Primarily based in Balaklava, James is a key person for our ongoing client service program in the Adelaide Plains region.

Why financial advice?

James enjoys meeting with his clients and taking the journey with them from start to finish, exploring their goals, and make a difference in their lives.

Seeing his clients the end of the day when they’ve realised that they actually can achieve the things they want to achieve is the reason that James enjoys getting out of bed to come to work each day.

What’s their goal?

In his role as an Advice Coach, James’ goal is to provide his clients with clarity and a better understanding of their financial situation through a process of conversations and education.

In his personal life, James hopes to continue playing sport as long as he can, to spend time with his family and to raise his kids to be respectful, kind and courageous adults.


Michael Curnow

Michael started working with us in 2011 after studying a Bachelor of Commerce. He has a passion to use these skills helping people achieve their goals and provide holistic financial advice.

As an Adviser & Coach Michael offers professional advice in a range of areas and prides himself on his ability to explain complex areas of advice in an easy to understand way. He is an essential part of our ongoing review service to existing clients.

Michael enjoys his work as it enables him to educate his clients to help them understand what’s going on with their financial situation, which he feels helps to build the most important part of a relationship; trust.

He enjoys seeing his clients expand their understanding and as a result achieve the goals they set out to achieve.

What’s your goal

Michael seeks to continue to develop as a professional while also building great long term relationships with his clients. He enjoys helping other members of the team to grow in their abilities too.

Michael wants to improve each day and make the most of life. He loves to travel, following the Formula 1 & AFL and always being able to have a good laugh.

Tim Haselum

Tim started with the business in 2013, coming off a solid back ground of back of office support, and with a strong technical knowledge.

After years of helping advisers solve clients problems in a support role he finally got his “wings” and became a Financial Planner, and has since been valuable member of the Advice team as well as “coaching” clients to better define and commit to their life goals.

Why financial advice?

Although we mainly deal in “financial advice”, Tim believes that it really is just a means to an end to help people achieve their life goals. We want to grow – protect – utilise - personal wealth in order to have the freedom to live whatever life we dream about.

That is why Tim loves helping people with their financial/life planning

Tim’s goal is to use every bit of knowledge, every trick of the trade, every possible avenue to maximise his clients’ resources to let them get out there and fully live their lives.

What’s their goal?

Outside of work in Tim’s free time, he focuses on living and being present in the moment. Nobody lives forever, and if we only focus on the end of the journey we lose what we have in the now.

Whether that’s spending time with friends and loved ones, or simply lying under a tree with a good book, Tim enjoys life “his way”.

Craig Cox

Operations Manager

Craig started with us here in 2010 originally as a contractor to project manage the construction and development of our client relationship management system.

His current role as our Operations Manager now is to oversee and manage the operations, procedures and “backroom” of Mybluesky to ensure that everything that we do is done accurately and remains up to date.

Why financial advice?

With his analytical background, Craig enjoys the financial advice industry as it is constantly changing and with that changes comes new opportunities to implement innovative technology, systems and software into our advice process here at Mybluesky. He enjoys the ability to adapt and improve the way we do business through technology and staff operations.

What’s their goal?

Craig’s mantra at work is to automate or eliminate inefficient practices so that we can always focus on and spend more time with our clients.

In his personal life, Craig seeks to help his four children turn into fine adults and to one day drive a Steam Locomotive.


Nikki McCracken

Nikki started with us in 2010 as a contract Paraplanner. Over the years she has also been a workflow manager, overseen compliance and quality assurance.

Nikki has also engaged in training new staff as they come into the business and really enjoys seeing them grow into more senior roles as they develop.

Why financial advice?

Nikki enjoys reading our client stories and seeing the way that the advice she prepares can really make a difference in their lives. She really values the opportunities she has to see staff in our business grow and learn more about providing quality service and financial advice.

She also likes that the financial services industry provides her with a flexible option to find a balance between work and raising a family.

What’s their goal?

At work Nikki hopes that she can make in a difference not only in the lives of her colleagues as she works with them in various capacities, but also that her work produces valuable outcomes for our clients.

In her personal life Nikki loves spending time with her two children, Chase and Eva, and keeping active.


Maddison Veitch

Maddison started with us at Mybluesky in 2015 after having worked in the financial planning industry since 2012 in various administrative style roles.

Since starting here, Maddison’s role has evolved from doing primarily paraplanning work, into also helping to develop referral relationships with other businesses, collaborating to create content for our social media profile, event planning, producing a range of marketing materials, as well as playing a part in the implementation of advice and compliance maintenance.

Why financial advice?

Maddison loves the opportunity that financial advice gives her to meet new people, see the difference that a solid financial foundation can make in their lives and more generally just hearing their stories and developing relationships with our clients. She also enjoys the flexibility of her role as she can engage in a diverse range of activities and responsibilities day to day.

What’s their goal?

Maddison seeks to be a part of a culture that focuses on providing clients with a high quality, professional service while also developing long lasting relationships with them.

Outside of work, Maddison’s main goal is to always make time for family, friends, keeping fit and healthy, to see theatre shows, listen to music, travel and experience life to its fullest.

Tess began working with us as an Executive Assistant in 2013, following many years in the telecommunications industry. Tess is the interface between Michelle and her clients, and provides a high-level of administrative support to the business.

Tess is a people person, so working in an industry where she has an opportunity to meet and develop relationships every day suits her perfectly. She loves working in a team where the end goal is to assist people to realise their dreams in life.

What’s their goal?

Tess strives to ensure that all our clients feel secure in the knowledge that their future is in good hands. On a personal note, Tess enjoys spending time her family, travelling to warm places and enjoying a meal with friends.


Pina Bubner

Client Services Officer

Pina commenced her association with this business in January 2000 and has worked in client liaison throughout that time.  My role is predominately to arrange client meetings.

Pina derives great pleasure out of helping people and this is an great industry to do this.

Pina’s goal is simply to make a positive difference in people’s lives, both through her work and in her personal life.

Tess started working at Mybluesky in 2010 as a Junior Administration Assistant in our Balaklava office. Since then, she has relocated to our Adelaide location, developing her role to a Client Services Officer.

Tess loves working at Mybluesky as she can truly see the benefit and change that we make in clients’ lives.

Tess believes that through financial advice your dreams and goals can truly become a reality. It’s about taking a holistic approach to you and your unique goals, whatever they may be.

What’s their goal?

Tess looks to have a positive, helpful and friendly approach to her work, continually looking to develop and improve in her role/

She continues this outlook in her personal life, looking to be the best version of herself that she can be. For Tess, this looks like spending quality time with family and friends, reading a diverse range of books, continuing her studies and travelling.


Paul Bubner

As a past director of the business, Paul is now an influential member of the team at Mybluesky, as he mentors and engages with our Strategist & Advice Coaches, helping them to develop and grow in their roles.

Since 1995 Paul has been instrumental in growing and developing Mybluesky into one of the largest in its network in South Australia. At the same time he has overseen the implementation of a high level of professionalism and the use of leading edge technology in the delivery of quality, personalised financial planning advice for clients.

Why financial advice?

For Paul, financial advice is about working with people to help make their lives better. He enjoys the opportunity it gives him to add some enjoyment to others every day while also offering direction and support.

What’s their goal?

Paul aims to see our advice really work and make a positive difference in clients and their families’ lives.
