Helping to lift the standard of financial advice available to all Australians and New Zealanders. This includes working to improve how well people understand how to manage their money to prepare for retirement.

• No matter how little or how much money you have, anyone can benefit from a more structured approach to their finances. Even just getting a handle on how you spend your money can make a big difference.
• That's why AMP is using its experience and expertise in financial planning to do what it can to increase the standard of financial advice across the community. We realise that many people don't understand financial advice or know what a financial planner can do for them and that's why we produced the Thinking Ahead CD Rom which is available to everyone.
• As well as encouraging the community to find out more about financial advice and to help people to feel more confident about seeking out advice, we also take part in industry forums that are concerned with the provision and regulation of financial advice. We think all financial advisers should be highly qualified and act professionally and we use our influence to try and lift the standard of the advice provided to everyone.
• This includes our own financial planners. All AMP planners are self-employed and work within the communities that they serve. We work with them to provide high quality training. We want our planners to be recognised as professionals and to be the most highly qualified planners in Australia and New Zealand.
• Of course, AMP employees can benefit from financial advice just like anyone else in the community and we are improving how we help employees improve their financial knowledge. All employees receive a copy of the Thinking Ahead CD Rom and can catch up on important financial information from the intranet and face-to-face through information seminars. One of our goals is for our employees to value financial advice as an important part of their employment at AMP and that they are able to access information and advice in a way that suits them.
