AMP’s impact

Through the operation of its business, AMP has a broad range of impacts that can be summarised under the following categories:

Community - the general community in Australia and New Zealand

Marketplace - encompassing our planners, customers and suppliers

Workplace - our employees

Environment - our impact on the natural world.

We stay in touch with social and environmental issues and the groups that raise them in a number of ways, including face-to-face meetings, research and correspondence.

We welcome and listen to our stakeholders' views and are always prepared to explain our position on an issue of concern. We realise that we can't do everything that our stakeholders ask us to do - sometimes because two stakeholders will ask us to do things that are actually contradictory.

 

Deciding which social and environmental issues to tackle

We are being very focused and disciplined around the social and environmental issues on which we are taking a stand. We are doing this so we can make a real impact, rather than be distracted and invest too little time across too many issues.

While we have set out the issues we are currently working on, we continue to listen to our stakeholders to try and understand what's concerning them. If it aligns with AMP's purpose and strategy, we will seriously look at taking an issue on.
